Wellbeing Wednesdays
Wellbeing Wednesdays
At Eccleston Lane Ends Primary School, we are committed to supporting the holistic development of all our pupils. As part of this, we have introduced our "Wellbeing Wednesday" sessions, which aim to provide our SEND children with valuable opportunities to learn coping strategies and life skills.
Developing Coping Strategies for SEND Pupils
These sessions are designed to teach our SEND children effective ways to respond positively to the sensory overload they may encounter in busy environments. We understand that processing a variety of sensory inputs, such as noises, smells, and lights, can be a significant challenge for many of our SEND pupils. By taking them on regular trips to different settings, our staff can help them rationalise new experiences and equip them with coping strategies they can apply in their daily lives.
Promoting Communication, Social Skills, and Life Skills
In addition to developing coping strategies, our Wellbeing Wednesday sessions also provide valuable opportunities for our SEND children to enhance their communication, social skills, and life skills. Through real-life experiences, such as visiting a sensory soft play area, a bowling alley, a cinema, a restaurant, a bookshop, and a café, our pupils can practice essential skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Aligning with Our School's Vision and Values
At Eccleston Lane Ends Primary School, our vision is to work together and for one another, guided by our core values of honesty, kindness, respect, inclusion, determination, and cooperation. The Wellbeing Wednesday sessions embody these values, as we strive to create an inclusive environment where all our pupils, regardless of their individual needs, can thrive and develop the skills they need to succeed.
We are proud to offer these enriching experiences to our SEND children, and we are confident that they will continue to have a positive impact on their overall wellbeing and personal growth.
