Helping Hands Sessions
Helping Hands: Supporting Families with SEND
At Eccleston Lane Ends, we are committed to working with each other and for each other, guided by our core values of Honesty, Kindness, Respect, Inclusion, Determination, and Cooperation.
Our "Helping Hands" sessions are a reflection of these values, providing a welcoming space for families with children who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to come together, seek support, and build a sense of community.
Connecting Families, Empowering Parents
These regular sessions offer families a chance to connect over a hot drink and a cake, while also engaging with a range of professionals who can provide valuable insights and guidance.
The school nurse, for example, offers an overview of the areas she can support families with and a range of professionals have offered insights into ASD, Dyslexia, and sensory needs.
Parents also have the opportunity to work alongside their children, creating practical resources like worry monsters or sensory-stimulating "gloop." These hands-on activities not only help families address specific challenges but also foster a sense of cooperation and determination within the school community.
Comprehensive SEND Support
Our dedicated SEND support team is always on hand during these sessions, ready to offer advice and answer any questions families may have. By providing this holistic support, we aim to empower parents and carers, ensuring they feel equipped to advocate for their children and navigate the complexities of the SEND system.
Strengthening Connections, Celebrating Diversity
At Eccleston Lane Ends, we believe that by working together and for one another, we can create an inclusive environment that celebrates the unique strengths and needs of every child. The "Helping Hands" sessions are a testament to this commitment, fostering a sense of belonging and empowering families to support each other on their educational journeys.
We invite all parents and carers of children with SEND to join us at our upcoming "Helping Hands" sessions, where you'll find a warm, supportive community and the resources you need to help your child thrive.
